Services  |  Working Together

Over the years it has become important to me to share my love and passion for good food; to help the people around me become more connected to what is on their plates; and to help farmers and food producers extend their reach deeper into our region.

Whether this be through:

  • helping people make more informed eating choices;

  • teaching people how to grow their own food (small scale 'backyard' production); or

  • working with folks invested in local agriculture to create a flourishing Kootenay food shed,

It is a goal of mine to give everything I can to building a stronger, more food secure future for the Kootenay region of British Columbia (where I call home). There is an incredible team of people, scattered through every corner of the Kootenays, who are devoted to developing a resilient + sustainable agricultural sector. At its roots, the purpose of Eat.grow.flourish is to act as a catalyst between our food shed, this dynamic team of ag professionals, and our communities to increase local food consumption.

All services are completely customizable to your needs that we will identify together. Our relationship will cater to how much personal time you have to invest, how much you want to learn and how dirty you want to get your hands. Its time to take control of your eating and shopping choices, seize the opportunity to grow your own food, and take powerful steps to get your product into more mouths!

Eat   |   learn.choose.flourish     Services for eaters, looking to make positive change with the way they eat.

Helping inform people of easy ways to make smarter food choices is what I do. Breaking down the way we shop, itemizing where to find which products in our region, facilitating new shopping experiences, and developing meal plans that incorporate locally produced seasonal foods are all options that are completely customizable to your needs and goals. Step one involves a free consultation to identify food changes you want to make in your home and the most practical solution to creating sustainable change in the way you purchase and eat food.

Quotes are provided on a custom basis after initial consultation.

Grow   |   plant.harvest.flourish     Services for growers, looking to increase their backyard food production.

Through our experience as urban homesteaders in our small mountain town (elevation 1025m), we've developed strategic systems for lengthening our growing season, adapting to small urban spaces + vertical gardening, collecting rainwater, composting, succession + companion planting, and crop rotations. Building new growing spaces from scratch, adapting and enlivening existing spaces, developing techniques adaptable to different climates, creating indoor grow setups, and learning methods to increase productivity are all options available through our Grow service.

We cater to backyard growers who are looking to provide year-round sustenance for a single family. We also help clients learn the ins and outs of backyard chickens, and we create customizable chicken coops for small (or not so small!) backyard spaces. Need help sourcing and transporting new hens? We help with that too! Step one involves a free consultation to identify your personal goals for growing food. Included in this consultation is an assessment of your growing space, with a grounded, realistic growing plan for optimal production potential based on identified goals. Quotes are provided on a custom basis after initial consultation.

"The greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production. Even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone."

Flourish   |  Bringing More Local Food to More Local Plates!    Services for commercial farmers + food producers.

With more than 6 years helping farmers and producers reach more plates, increasing our local food consumption is a priority goal in my life that I have become very skilled at. Even if this means one bite at a time, we are still making forward progress, and that is what matters. Literally, every local bite counts for strengthening our regional food security, and I can help you and your product reach more mouths. Through strategic social media, web and in-person marketing initiatives; and affordable, key Eat.grow.flourish advertising, we will work together to implement a targeted action plan that will increase your product sales.

Step one involves a free consultation to identify your personal goals for reaching more plates. Included in this consultation is an assessment of your current marketing initiatives and your capacity for growth or adjustment, as well as a breakdown of your marketing budget and how to most effectively invest in an effective marketing plan.

In 2015, I was voted BC's 'Favourite Local Advocate' by the BC We Heart Local Awards. Let me help YOU promote your products! Quotes are provided on a custom basis after initial consultation, and Eat.grow.flourish advertising options are available upon request.
